Dundas Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) time-line

The below time-line provide an overview of the development of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) related studies and report. The work was initiated in June 2016 and the public consultation on the EIA was initated in March 2020.

2016
June 2016 – Draft Environmental Study Programme submitted to MLSA/EAMRA
August 2016 – Environmental Study Programme approved by EAMRA
August 2016 – 1st year field survey of marine and terrestrial environment

2017
February 2017 – Consultation/Public meeting in Qaanaaq, Ilulissat, Nuuk
June 2017 – 1st aerial survey for marine mammals
July/August 2017 – 2nd year field survey of marine and terrestrial environment
September/October – 2nd aerial survey for marine mammals
October 2017 – Terms of Reference for the EIA approved

2018
June 2018 – 3rd aerial survey for marine mammals
August 2018 – 3rd year of field survey of marine and terrestrial environment
September/October – 4th aerial survey for marine mammals
October 2018 – Addendum to Terms of Reference (Discharge to the sea)

2019
April 2019 – Submission of EIA report and eight background reports in first drafts.
August 2019 – 4th year additional field survey of marine and aquatic environment.

2020
February 2020 – EIA report compliant with guidelines for Public Consultation by the Greenland authorities.
March 2020 – EIA accepted as compliant with guidelines by the Authorities.
